Is something feeling hard for your child
but you're not sure what's going on?

An Initial Assessment is the starting point. We'll take the time to understand your child, identify what's getting in the way, and give you a clear picture of how to move forward.

We are a mobile occupational therapy service. Serving families in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, Whakatane, Rotorua and beyond.

WHAT HAPPENS IN AN INITIAL ASSESSMENT?

Every assessment begins with a conversation. We want to hear from you about what you're noticing at home, at school, and in daily life.

From there, we observe and assess your child using a combination of:

  • Play-based observations

  • Sensory processing assessments

  • Primitive reflex testing

  • Standardised motor skills testing (where needed)

  • Visual perception testing (where needed)

We always combine what we find with what you, your child, and their teachers tell us, because the full picture matters.

At the end, you'll have a clear understanding of your child's strengths, challenges, and the next steps forward.

Your child doesn't need to be fixed. They need to be understood.
Our ongoing therapy sessions are play-based, neuroaffirming, and trauma-informed.

Food Explorers - Food Therapy:

Mealtimes can feel overwhelming for some children. Whether it's sensory sensitivities, anxiety, motor challenges, or past experiences. Eating is complex, and we get that.

Our feeding therapy programme supports children with feeding differences in a way that is respectful, playful, and guided by their sensory and developmental needs.

We create a safe environment where children can explore food at their own pace, without pressure or shame. Using food-based play, sensory exploration, and relationship-building, we help children grow their confidence around food, build trust in their own bodies, and feel more comfortable trying new things. When they're ready.

Every child's programme is adapted to suit their unique profile, interests, and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all approach here.

Group Therapy:

Sometimes the most powerful therapy happens alongside others who just get it.

Our group sessions are playful, supportive, and affirming. Children learn best when they feel safe to be themselves, and our groups create exactly that kind of space. A place to connect, practise new skills in real time, and build a sense of belonging.

Our group programmes include:

Social Connection Group

Supporting children to develop confidence in shared play, friendship building, turn-taking, emotional regulation, and back-and-forth communication.

Handwriting Group

Fun and engaging support for letter formation, spacing, pencil grip, posture, sentence building, and storytelling.

Girls Club

A strengths-based space to explore life skills, self-care routines, emotional literacy, friendships, and building a positive sense of identity.

School Readiness Group

Preparing children for the transition to school through games and routines that build social confidence, emotional regulation, motor skills, and classroom participation.

Proprioceptive Motor Planning (PMP) Group

Whole-body coordination, core strength, primitive reflex integration, resilience, and co-regulation. All through movement-based play.

Group availability depends on demand, location, and age group.
